Why everyone keeps coming back.

Located in the heart of Bologna, Trattoria Tony offers an authentic taste of traditional Italian cuisine that warmly embraces both locals and visitors alike. This quaint trattoria on V. Augusto Righi brings a genuine, friendly atmosphere where the passionate staff make you feel instantly at home, setting the perfect scene for an unforgettable dining experience.

The culinary stars here are unquestionably the classic Bolognese dishes, celebrated for their rich flavors and artisanal preparation. Among the standout offerings, the tortellini with pistachio captivates with its delicate balance of creamy, nutty richness, a dish described by diners as one of the most delicious they’ve ever savored. For those craving a hearty and comforting plate, the Tagliatelle al Friggione Bolognese showcases a beautifully rich sauce softened by a tender pasta with perfect al dente texture—each bite a harmonious blend of tradition and finesse.

The lasagna here also deserves special mention. Generous layers of pasta, melted cheese, and savory fillings come together to create a dish that is both deeply satisfying and comforting. While some diners wished for a bolder ragu flavor, the overall composition maintains the delicate balance that is emblematic of Bologna’s culinary heritage, making it a reliable choice for anyone eager to indulge in local classics.

Dining at Trattoria Tony is more than just a meal; it’s a sensory journey enhanced by attentive, knowledgeable staff who bring warmth and genuine hospitality to every table. The ambiance resonates with a lively yet intimate vibe, welcoming groups of all sizes—from families and couples to solo travelers—creating a convivial environment ripe for conversation over fantastic food.

With prices that reflect great value—often including house wine, coffee, and digestifs—Trattoria Tony stands out as a beloved spot where impeccable quality meets an inviting and relaxed setting. Whether you’re in Bologna for the first time or returning for another taste of Italy’s culinary treasures, this trattoria promises a memorable dining experience that resonates long after your last sip of coffee.

Traditional trattoria, very friendly staff and nice atmosphere. The tortellini with the pistachio was one the most delicious dishes I have ever tasted.

I actually visited Bologna more than a year ago and tried this spot because it was relatively close to our hotel. While essentially every restaurant we visited in the city was good, this one left a good impression as the first place we tried when we arrived. Of course we had the pasta ragu. The sauce was on the milder side, and the pasta itself had excellent texture/bite. I had a bit of a hard time remembering the name of the restaurant so I have combed through Google maps to find it. The gentleman who took care of us provided excellent service. I’d recommend this restaurant to friends who visit the city in the future.

This restaurant came highly recommended by a friend, and it definitely didn’t disappoint! I was tempted to try the lasagna, but since all lasagna in Bologna contains pork, I opted for the Tagliatelle al Friggione Bolognese instead. It was absolutely delicious—rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Can't wait to try more dishes next time! Loved the staffs they were so helpful and friendly.

Very very good lasagna. Pasta Ragu taste good but wish the sauce was a bit more intense in flavor. Overall a decent meal, not the best we have had but the restaurant got plenty of seats so it was quite convenient for a walk-in.

I had a good experience in this restaurant. We ordered a salad and a steak. Both were very delicious. The lady was very helpful to answer our questions specifically that we have some food restrictions (no alcohol and no porc). We finished with a mascarpone and a tiramisu and also were so good. Thank you.
